Seeing that a claw is an extension of the body, can it be used to touch cast if the packet is held in the hand of the caster?

Doesn't the packet itself have to be in contact with the person receiving the spell? I don't recall any one ever casting a spell otherwise in front of me, although it is a good idea to ask.
I'm wondering, what about THROWING a packet from a claw hand?

I would be against claws being used for touch-casting. They packet itself needs to physically touch the target.

I have seen people put a packet in their boot and then touch cast on people by gently tapping them with their foot, I don't know if this is technically allowed, but I have seen it, so I would assume that if this is allowed by the letter of the rules that so would the claw thing. Although personally I am with Jason on this one, in that I think it shouldn't be allowed, because claws would extend your reach, and that is unfair, as you can reach a claw between two people to heal a person in front of them without risking damage from whatever just kill them, whereas if you had to reach your arm out there, then it would just have to hit you to hurt you.
Thank you,

Touch casting is pretty specific about requiring you to use your hand to hold the packet.

We use long sword like things to represent claws to be consistent with our combat safety regime.
We require packets to touch targets when touch casting to....?

Fill in that and it should be clear what our goal should be and what we need to do to ensure the rules properly reflect the goal.

You have 2 choices when it comes to casting, Throwing or Touch casting.

Touch casting guarantees the spell is used on the intended target. Touch casting is very specific on using the packet in your hand.

So imho Claws can' be used in that respect.

There is a third option and that is spell striking.

True and that's how you can use a Weapon or Claw to do it.

You cannot touch cast with a claw.
