The income generated is not as paultry as you are led to believe. If you have no employees working in your shop, you'll make a minimum profit (because your character is running the store in between the times that he/she is adventuring). Add some employees, and the income increases. Once the income/expense piece is completed (within 1 day or 2), you'll see.

Does the type of employee matter, like does having a fighter in a tavern help the income or a rogue. It just seems there is very little detail on how each type of employee effects the business. Like I hired one fighter for my tavern to be a "bouncer" in case things get out of hand(serves alch), but that is only my logic on having him there he might do nothing positive for me. I would really like to see how they effect your business.

Is there a way to build up stories or is that only once the building is complete? I saw it was able to go higher but didnt see a way to do it.

At the moment, I am focusing on Non-Combat NPC's, with Professions. An NPC working in a place of business will generate additional income, based on their skill level, their loyalty and their happiness. The additional revenue is added to the base revenue generated by the business. At least, that's what's in there at the moment.

Hirelings will also be a factor in some situations in the future, and when the Personal Estate system is tied into the overall estate system. For example, if you have a Lawyer on retainer, he/she might help out if your character gets stuck in a sticky legal situation. Your hirelings are visible to plot, which may drive plot for your character, or offer an added bonus in some situation (that would be up to your local plot).

More expansion of what hirelings do will be forthcoming.

Available max number of properties, max number of employees and max number of assets are all level based.

Tonight's updates include:

- The ability to add a Floor (story) to a property. The building must be at least 40% completed before being able to add a floor to it.
- The ability to expedite construction of a property has been added. You can choose Normal Time, 1/2 the time, 1/3 the time and 1/4 the time. The shorter the build time, the more expensive the cost.
- Fixed a few problems in the NPC Search and Creation dropdown lists.
- The ability to set an employee's salary has been added. They will not work for free.
- Added code (that runs daily for now) that creates an End of Month (Day) report containing sales generated by each employee, employee salaries, business revenue and expenses.

Numbers can be adjusted. Part of this test is balancing the system.
