See the adventure →Meet your chapter
Tell the organizers you’re new. Ask about their next event and how to join in.

Confirm registration, rules, and gear with your chapter.
Membership information →One world. One ruleset. More adventures.
Every NERO chapter agrees to use the same rules, cosmology, and world. Travel with your character and treasure to neighboring chapters—without learning a new set of rules.
NERO uses the 9th Edition rules, available in the NERO Online library.
Choose your role
Play your own hero
Create a character with a goal, a past, and room to grow. Follow their story across adventures; your chapter can help with current character options.
Bring the world to life
Join the staff’s cast of characters and creatures. A great way to try the game—ask about training, gear, and arrangements.
Your first-event checklist
What happens at a LARP?
Roleplay, investigate, bargain, solve puzzles, and face encounters with other players. Costumes, props, and approved padded weapons bring the world to life. There’s plenty to do beyond combat.
Before you travel
Confirm the date, venue, arrival and check-in times, fees, membership requirements, and event procedures. Ask about meals, sleeping arrangements, accessibility needs, and a new-player contact. Chapters run independently; event venues may differ from their home area.
Events may be a weekend at a campground or a shorter adventure at a park, hall, or other venue. Reserve ahead when requested.
What to pack
Ask for your chapter’s packing list: costume, character information, weather-ready clothes, spare socks, toiletries, and any food or drinks you must supply. For overnight events, confirm bedding or sleeping-bag needs.
Ask about loaner gear before buying. Have weapons and other game equipment approved before using them.
Playing together
Be courteous, honest, and helpful. Follow staff instructions and ask when a rule or situation is unclear. Everyone helps make the event welcoming.
All chapters use the same NERO 9th Edition rules. Find the rulebook in the NERO Online library. Wiki access is currently restricted. Register and manage your membership through NERO Online.
